ADV-tested CH7 Boom

New John Deere 1270E is equipped with the new CH7 Boom. Before taking it to the serial production the new boom has gone thorough ADV (Accelerated Design Verification) -testing in John Deere test laboratory in United States.

In ADV-test the boom is tightened firmly into the test-bench, the boom cylinders are hydraulically locked to be able to stimulate an extra ordinary demanding logging condition and the continuous mechanical stress situation. The boom mechanical stress will be repeated continuously to match even 15 000 hours continuous wood processing in the woods. This way the boom durability can then be measured already at the boom engineering phase to make sure that boom will be approved for serial production.
