E-Serviceability

Thanks to the comprehensive design and new features of John Deere's E-series machines, serviceability has improved significantly. Servicing procedures can be performed quickly and it has been possible to increase the intervals between them.

One significant feature that has resulted in the lengthening of such intervals is the preliminary cleaning of the engine air filter. The air coming in to the filter is cleaned using cyclone technology before it actually reaches the filter, by which time most of the impurities have already been removed.

Another such feature is the hydraulic radiator fan that automatically changes direction. At regular intervals this fan automatically blows away impurities that have collected on the radiator.

A major modification concerning maintenance of the machine’s hydraulic system is the oil by-pass filter, which removes fine particles and moisture from the hydraulic system. Because of this, the hydraulic components last longer and malfunctions are significantly reduced.

A central lubrication system is available as an option for E-series forest machines. This system looks after the machine’s daily lubrication, so there is a proportion of time that is consequently freed up from lubrication.

In order to make servicing easier, all E-series machine covers are electrically powered, and have effective servicing lights. Even the tilting of the forwarder cab to its service position is electric.

Determining the servicing and spare parts requirements of the machines is done in great detail, and the storage of critical parts at John Deere is made as efficient as possible, so that the parts needed by the customer are available as quickly as possible, and work does not need to stop.

In addition to this, John Deere's oil analysis service is an effective tool for machine maintenance. The condition of a machine can be monitored systematically by analysing the consistency of oil samples taken from the machine. This way, it is possible to spot necessary repair work before it incurs any greater costs. [Analysis example]

With E-model machines, the use of the oil analysis service is trouble-free, as new E-model machines are all fitted with a hydraulic fluid sampling point.

The operation of new machines can also be kept efficient through built-in pressure sensors, which assist in the immediate observation of irregularities.
